Role Overview

The FinOps Manager is a senior leadership role within the Finance team, accountable for the strategy, performance, and continuous improvement of Mumzworld's financial operations. The role owns the design and governance of financial processes and controls, leads a team of finance professionals, and gives senior leadership the insights they need to make strategic and operational decisions.

The ideal candidate comes from an internal audit background, with a strong grounding in risk, controls, and process reviews, and is now ready to apply that expertise to build and lead financial operations in a fast-paced, high-growth e-commerce environment.

What You'll Be Doing

Financial Operations Leadership & Strategy: Own the end-to-end financial operations agenda, including setting the roadmap for process design, optimization, and scalability as the business grows. Lead the identification of process gaps and drive the delivery of solutions from recommendation through to implementation.

Financial Controls & Governance: Own the internal control framework, including policies, procedures, and Risk Control Matrices. Lead gap assessments, oversee remediation plans, and act as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors to ensure strong governance and compliance.

Risk-Based Process Reviews: Apply an internal audit approach to review key financial and operational processes, such as procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, inventory, and record-to-report. Assess control design and operating effectiveness, perform controls testing, and track audit findings through to closure.

Financial Analysis & Strategic Insights: Lead financial analysis, reporting, and performance management frameworks. Present insights and recommendations to senior management and the executive team to influence strategic and commercial decisions.

Automation & Finance Systems: Define and drive the finance automation and systems strategy. Lead the selection, implementation, and optimization of financial systems, reporting tools, and automation platforms to improve efficiency and scalability.

Team Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, and develop a team of finance professionals. Set clear objectives, manage performance, and build a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as a senior finance business partner to Operations, Technology, and Commercial leaders. Align priorities, resolve complex issues, and ensure that cross-functional initiatives are delivered successfully.

Finance Transformation: Lead finance transformation programs and strategic projects, including planning, stakeholder management, resourcing, and delivery against agreed outcomes.

What You'll Need

Experience

The Foundation: 6+ years of post-qualification experience, with a strong background in internal audit (Big 4 risk advisory or in-house internal audit). At least 2 years should be in a managerial or team leadership role, such as leading audit engagements or teams.

The Background: Experience auditing or working within consumer-focused businesses, e-commerce, FMCG, retail, or high-growth environments is strongly preferred. Exposure to finance operations or business finance beyond audit is a plus.

The Track Record: Proven experience leading end-to-end internal audits, preparing Risk Control Matrices, performing controls testing, and driving remediation with process owners. Familiarity with frameworks such as COSO, ICFR, or SOX is highly desirable, as is experience turning audit findings into lasting process improvements.

Qualification

Education: CA / CPA / ICAEW / ACCA qualification required. A CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or similar audit certification is a strong advantage, and an MBA is a plus.

Analytical & Technical Capability: Expert financial analysis and modelling skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Hands-on experience with ERP systems, BI and reporting tools, and automation platforms is expected, and SQL knowledge is a strong plus.
