Job Overview
The Head of Categories will lead the development, execution, and performance of Mumzworld’s category portfolio (maternity, feeding, gear, toys, clothing, etc.). This role holds full accountability for category strategy, P&L, assortment curation, vendor and brand partnerships, pricing, inventory lifecycle management, and cross-functional delivery across the UAE and KSA to drive sustainable growth, profitability, and an outstanding customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & P&L Management
Define and deliver a 12–24–36 month category roadmap aligned with Mumzworld’s vision, identifying growth segments and white spaces.
Own full P&L, driving revenue growth and market share while optimizing margins, COGS, promotions, markdowns, and returns.
Present performance, risks, and strategic initiatives to Leadership and Board; ensure compliance with UAE/KSA regulations.
Assortment & Partnerships
Curate optimal assortment (brands, SKUs, exclusives), rationalize underperforming lines, and manage lifecycle.
Source, negotiate, and onboard local and global brands; secure competitive terms, exclusives, and co-marketing opportunities.
Design pricing, promotions, and bundling strategies to optimize conversion, margin, and customer value.
Supply Chain, Digital & Ops
Partner with Demand Planning and Fulfillment to ensure optimal stock availability and inventory efficiency.
Work with Product, UX, and Merchandising teams to optimize digital shelf experience for English and Arabic users.
Use data insights (basket size, conversion, churn, returns, competitor trends) to refine strategy and execution.
Leadership & Collaboration
Lead and develop a high-performing category team across UAE and KSA, fostering a data-driven culture.
Collaborate with Marketing, Logistics, Finance, and Tech to deliver end-to-end category initiatives.
What you"ll be doing
As the Head of Categories, you will take full ownership of Mumzworld's product portfolio strategy and financial performance across the UAE and KSA markets. On a day-to-day basis, you will drive top-line growth and optimize profit margins while leading a high-performing regional team of category managers and merchandisers. You will act as the primary commercial engine—sourcing global brands, negotiating exclusive partnerships, and designing pricing structures that convert. Beyond the financials, you will collaborate closely with supply chain teams to ensure perfect inventory availability, and partner with the digital UX team to ensure our bilingual platform offers a seamlessly curated, discoverable shopping experience for millions of families.
Experience & Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 8–12 years in category management, merchandising, or retail, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role owning a multi-million dollar P&L.
E-Commerce Acumen: Proven track record in digital retail, marketplace, or omni-channel environments. Deep familiarity with the UAE and KSA e-commerce landscape is essential.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA is highly preferred.
Analytical Skillset: Highly proficient in utilizing data, metrics, dashboards, and financial modeling to drive forecasting and trend analysis.
Language: Professional fluency in English is required; an Arabic bilingual advantage is highly valued.
